I watched a movie at home, finished it, and went back to my computer.
I’ve watched movies my whole life. When I was young, I used to watch Hong Kong movies on TV. During summer vacations, there was a movie channel that showed films all day, for free. I loved it.
Today, I made a simple decision: I want to watch one movie a day.
I don’t know how long this will last. Maybe one month. Maybe one year. Maybe even longer. I hope I can keep going for 1000 days, but for now, this is just a plan.
I love movies because they slow me down. A movie asks for my attention. I stop scrolling. I stop jumping between things. I just sit there and watch a story unfold. Sometimes it feels like a beautiful dream. Sometimes it feels like living someone else’s entire lifetime.
After a movie ends, I want to write a few words down. Just a small trace.
English is my second language. Writing like this might help me improve it at the same time. So for the first 100 days, I’ll start with animated films. They’re easier to understand, and they feel like a good place to begin.
For now, this is Day 1.
One movie, one day at a time.
